The Student Government Association passed a resolution to raise the student activities fee for SUNY Rockland Community College students by a rate of 5 percent every year for the next three years. The fee for this academic year was $50 for full-time students and $3.30 per credit for part-time students. As a result of the resolution, the first increase will be made in the spring semester of 2007. At that time the fee will be raised to $55 for full-time students and $3.60 per credit for part-time students. In the resolution, the SGA cited that the fee had been the same since the 1998 to 1999 academic year, and since that time inflation has increased the cost to "implement events and activities." They also cited that the average student activities fee for "Mid-Hudson community colleges" in 2006 was $76.54. Suffolk County had the highest fee of all the colleges listed at $130, while RCC tied Orange County Community College for the lowest fee.
