Texting in the Cafeteria between classes is how many students pass the time.

Students who are not involved with campus activities assume there is nothing fun to do at SUNY Rockland.

Some students even say it's almost as if they never left high school.
On the contrary, many find that there are plenty of fun and exciting things to do on campus. "I always find something to do," said freshman Caroline Elise. "It's just a matter of where you go."

If you are struggling to find something to do during the hour in between classes, and don't want to lose your parking spot, you can always visit the cafeteria. The cafeteria is a great place to hang out, talk, text, and do some homework, even if you're not hungry.

The cafeteria is classified as the most diverse hangout on campus because it is not dominated by one specific crowd.

Student Nina Navarro likes the cafeteria because meals are cheaper there than at the restaurants in the area.

Another popular campus hangout is the Game Room on the lower level of the Student Union. It's uncommon to find this room empty.

When you walk in, you will find your video gamers to your left. Most of, if not all of the time, their game of choice is "Super Smash Bros." On the other side of the room, a pool table is available, if you're willing to cough up a few quarters.

The most intense competition usually takes place at the ping pong table.

The tables on the lower level of the Union are also popular. Freshman Victoria Gomez and her friends often go there after picking up Wendy's.

The two lounges on the upper level of the Union are hot spots for exhausted students who need to squeeze in a nap or get some studying in before their next class.

This is a great spot to settle in if all of your friends have class and you want to get some homework done.

Many students gather in the library during common hour, probably to satisfy a midday Facebook craving. This isn't a recommended hangout because there are volume restrictions.

If the library cramps your style, you can grab some friends and go to the Fieldhouse for all kinds of fun. This is the spot where the athletes tend to come. Basketball, tennis, swimming and weight room training are free activities available to all RCC students.

There are many things that RCC has to offer when you have nothing else to do. If none of these hangouts fits your style, join a club.
