The 2010 World Series served as the perfect prelude to the real drama in the 2011 regular season. Cliff Lee spurned the two favorites to land him, the Yankees and the Rangers to form an all-time powerhouse rotation out in Philadelphia. They instantly become the favorites for the NL East and in most people's books, for the World Series Title. He's joined in that rotation by Cole Hamels, reigning CY Young Award Winner Roy Halladay, Roy Oswalt, and Joe Blanton.
A recent upset after a promising start motivates improvement
The 2010-2011 RCC Ladies Basketball team has started the season with a new look, a new identity, and a fresh new attitude. When asked what the realistic expectations for this year's team are, second year coach Rich Jacobson immediately replied, "Regions.
Squashing insults about professional wrestling
Plainly, I don't like when people insult wrestling or wrestlers. I have had to squash arguments against wrestling for many years now. People who have never or have only barely watched any of the sport tend to have the loudest opinions. It is for that reason I am writing this piece.
New players and teams compete with the season’s best
The 2010-2011 NBA season is one that's rife with more intrigue, storylines, and subplots than a daytime soap opera. It's only fitting after the most hectic and frantic offseason in the sport's history. The big story in the NBA this year is the big three out in South Beach.
Former UFC heavyweight champion, Brock Lesnar, put his belt on the line against current champion, Cain Velasquez, at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California on October 23. This fight is considered the best heavyweight bout to occur in UFC history. Both Cain Velasquez and Brock Lesnar were victorious in their last fights.

After all, they have a two-hundred million dollar payroll, a team composed of All-Stars, and they have made it to the playoffs fifteen of the last sixteen seasons.

They often look away from the problems right under their noses, and instead choose to act only when a situation becomes so bad that it can no longer be ignored.
Women’s volleyball goes up against a larger, stronger team
The Lady Hawks volleyball squad is an undersized squad that when facing a team that matches their numbers, can dominate the play, like they recently did against Bronx Community College. They won another straight sweep, three games to none, and hardly seemed to break a sweat doing it.
A Look Back at the Season’s Star Players and More
This summer was a summer that was marked down on every basketball fan's calendar because of the spectacular class of free agents who became available in the off-season. The Nets, with a new billionaire owner, drafted power Derrick Favors. They also acquired several new free agents, and plan to move to a new arena in Brooklyn this year.
With an overall record of 24-7, the RCC baseball Hawks took first place in the Region XV Mid-Hudson Conference, with their Conference record being an equally impressive 18-1-1. They came just shy of an undefeated Conference season. Rockland is hosting the Region XV Division II Conference Tournament this year.
